Gathering foot #16 is suitable for gathering light to
medium-weight fabrics. The fabric is fed unevenly
during sewing, giving it its characteristic gathered effect.
The special notch on gathering foot #16 also allows the
gathered fabric to be sewn directly onto a smooth piece
of fabric in a single step. To do this, the plain fabric is inserted into the slit and is not gathered.
Note: Gathering foot #16 is available in two
different widths. The version with a narrow sole is used for machines
with a stitch width of 5.5 mm. For machines with a 9 mm stitch width
, the version with a wide sole can be used.
